Former Health and Child Care Minister, Dr Obadiah Moyo
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has finally expelled the Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Obadiah Moyo from cabinet.
Moyo’s latest firing comes barely a month after Zimbabweans were given a wild goose chase after a letter claiming to expel him was said to be fake.
Moyo is facing charges of criminal abuse of office involving what has been termed Covidgate scandal of US$1 million.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda wrote, “Please be advised that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E. D. Mnangagwa, has in terms of Section 340, subsection (i), paragraph (f), as read with Section 104, subsection (i) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe has removed Dr Obadiah Moyo, from the office of Cabinet Minister and Minister of Government with immediate effect for conduct inappropriate for a Government minister.”
