Handing over the donation,Mr Patrick Mnangagwa articulated that;” we are Precabe Enterprises,a farming company operating in the Midlands province, Kwekwe district to be precise. We venture in mixed farming , including horticulture, animal husbandry and cattle ranching. We specialise in commercial crops, for instance wheat, maize, sugar beans, soya beans and barley”,said Mr Mnangagwa

“At the moment we are haversting our summer crops and we have utilised this chance to donate maize in the fight against the deadly Covid 19 pandemic.Precabe Enterprises brought 90 tonnes of maize worth $1,1 million.I will hand over this gift to the responsible authorities,”he narrated.

Acknowledging receipt of all donations,President Mnangagwa expressed that no donation is big or small.

He reiterated that Covid-19 pandemic had exhibited a devastating effect on human life across continents.

“We decided as Zimbabwe that we call upon every single citizen and say we have this challenge as a people,”said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa reiterated that,” this attack knows no boundary, knows no status. It will affect the affluent and it will attack the poor with similar viciousness. In mobilising ourselves to mitigate, to fight this pandemic no one should be left behind. We all have put our shoulders to the wheel. Besides, as Zimbabwe, we are not as developed as countries in the first world. We dont have a strong economy like countries in the first world. We dont have sophisticated health services infrastructure as countries in the first world”.

His Execellency went on to say that,”Zimbabwe was in a snag but with resoluteness, direction and concurrence the nation might possibly go a long way in mitigating against the impact of the deadly pandemic”.

“We decided to study the recommendations of the World Health Organisation and we felt some of the recommendations by WHO we could also adopt them as tools to fight this pandemic”,said President.

“This includes the lockdown. The lockdown means that we are putting the preservation of life as a priority, but the opposite of that we are also exposing our fragile economy to the impact of the pandemic in terms of our industry and economy being attacked because of the lockdown”, said President Mnangagwa.

The First family’s donation is a clear sign of how salient President Mnangagwa and First Lady Amai Auxilia Mnangagwa affix to the fight against Covid- 19 pandemic.
