Former Energy Minister retired Major-General Mike Nyambuya is alive and well, contrary to reports that he had died from Covid-19 complications.
This was confirmed by the government through acting Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere after several local publications reported that the retired army general had died in the early hours of Saturday due to Covid-19 complications. Minister Muswere confirmed that General Nyambuya is alive but did not go into detail about the former cabinet minister’s health.
However, Nyambuya’s nephew Craig Nyambuya said that his uncle was alive and well in a post in which he remonstrated with some publications to stop spreading fake news about the death of his uncle. Craig wrote,
Please stop spreading fake news about my family. My uncle is alive and well. Thank you very much.
