Mahwindo Foundation donates to the elderly.

Socialite and music promoter Wanisayi Mutandwa ‘aka’ Mama Mahwindo in music circles has joined the bandwagon after she delivered grocery hampers to the elderly people in Chitungwiza through her Mahwindo foundation.

The donations sourced through her Mahwindo foundation, were handed over to about 500 elderly people in Chitungwiza yesterday owing to the Covid -19 induced national lockdown ,which was further extended by two more weeks by President Mnangagwa yesterday. Each beneficiary received 10 kg roller meal , sugar beans and 2 litres cooking oil. During the donation Mahwindo and her team disseminated Covid – 19 awareness information.

“I grew up in Seke, Mubaiwa village being a proud member of the Salvation Army at Marikopo primary school.My grandmother Gogo Mubaiwa taught me ; Kupa kune mufaro kunokunda kugamuchira uye usabatsire munhu kuti akutende nekuti uchanotendwa nedenga, une korona yako iriko kumusoro kudenga” ,said Mahwindo.

“We know we did not give them enough but those food hampers are just a token of appreciation.We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give. We hope to do even better when we mobilise more resources”, said Mama Mahwindo.
