In a bid to mantain gazetted level 2 Lockdown regulations, police and soldiers are ordering people to evacuate from Harare Central Business District. This development comes after great concerns in the increase in numbers of people monkeying around town leading to mounting of road blocks on roads linking Harare surbubs and the city centre.
Police and soldiers are moving around town in their trucks urging members of the public to evacuate from the CBD immediately.”Budai mudhorobha”, they are heard from the loud speaker.
This has left many Zimbabweans with mixed emotions, some are speculating that the security forces are on a mission to assist MDC-T President Thokozani Khupe to take over the party headquarters Harvest House.
MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere posted, “Just stepped out of the High Court where I was arguing a case. Armed police and soldiers with a loud speaker telling us to clear the street. “Budai mudhorobha.”
However, Zimbabwe’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has cleared off the rife speculation among citizens when he posted on his official twitter account that” Government has not pronounced a change in lockdown Regulations. We are still on level 2 lockdown and permitted activity should go ahead.@ Police Zimbabwe are only enforcing the pronounced and gazetted level 2 conditions”posted Nick Mngwana.
“Govt has not pronounced a change in Lockdown Regulations. We are still on Level 2 lockdown and permitted economic activity should go ahead. @PoliceZimbabwe are only enforcing the pronounced and gazetted Level 2 conditions.”twitted Nick Mangwana.
