Acting ZANU PF, national spokesperson Cde Patrick Chinamasa has vehemently warned members of the public and journalists to decist from spreading malicious falsehoods as they put innocent individual names into disrepute.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday (today), at the revolutionary party headquarters, Cde Chinamasa gave a word of advice to false news peddlers to stop their shenanigans forth with, lest they risk facing wrath of the long arm of the law.
He made his utterances following false and baseless allegations which made headlines last week in several online and print media outlets who published that President Mnangagwa’s son Collins was syndicate with Drax International company being represented by Delish Nguwaya.
“We are aware that these baseless attacks did not start today but need to stop forth with”, said Cde Chinamasa.
Cde Chinamasa reiterated that,”from false allegations that the first in Drax international all of which have not been backed up by any evidence except publication of pictures involving a Delish Nguwaya, we warn the public and those writing these lies to stop”.
“The President has posed for photos with various business players both local and international particularly those donating for Covid-19 as a gesture of appreciation, this can not therefore,translate to owning, advise false news peddlers and arbitrators to desist forth with from perpetrating desparate character assassinations and shenanigans” said Cde Chinamasa.
However, Collins Mnangagwa last week issued a press statement on these unsubstantiated claims and accusations stating that they were designed to mislead the general public and to slander his name, reputation and that of the First family.
